Ingredients
- 4 tbsp bread crumbs (plain)
- 2 dl heavy whipping cream (can also use milk)
- 1 ¼ tsp salt
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp finely chopped yellow onions
- 400 gr ground beef (400 gr is about 0.8 lb)
- 2 eggs
- 2–3 tbsp butter (for pan)
Directions
- Mix breadcrumbs with about half of the fluids. Let it soak for 5–10 mins.
- Add and mix onions, salt, and pepper.
- Add eggs and the ground beef.
- Work the mixture such that it is smooth.
- Use a spoon to pick up the mixture and shape into small meatballs with water moist hands.
- Add butter to the pan and when golden brown add meatballs. Move the meatballs around in the pan such that they get even color and round shape. Reduce heat and let it fry for about 3–5 minutes.
- Serve with riced potatoes, pickles, and lingonberry jam. I also use IKEA's gravy on top of the meatballs.
Makes about 30 meatballs depending on size. Many things can be added to the mixture to add flavor such as paprika powder, garlic, chili powder, mustard, etc.
